The more I think about it the more I think that Apple have in part positioned the MacBook Neo to dilute, sabotage, diminish or at least render pointless the iPad product line.
In most cases, it now makes a lot more sense to buy a MacBook Neo than almost any iPad other than the very top specced top line biggest ones.
About the only remaining reason to specifically choose an iPad now is for the Pencil, for something like Procreate or similar, but even then I’d choose a Wacom and a Neo personally – whereas there’d be a lot of people who do want to use Procreate on the iPad with the Pencil, so that’s the iPad market now
The reasons to have an iPad are now fewer, and the advantages of an iPad are competed with by the Neo.
I think Apple really want to get rid of the iPad for several reasons, but they can’t just axe it, this is how they bury it, by releasing the Neo at that price. Apple don’t sell a lot of iPads with such a turnover that they do iPhones, people will upgrade an iPhone on a far more frequent rate than they do their iPad. Anyone with an iPad will hang on to it for as long as it still goes. Also, iPads don't improve noticeably from one generation to the next, so why upgrade. #Apple #Neo
