after some cable crimping,
PC cleaning, ad blocker installing and Windows debloating we have yet an other #OMV Open Media Vault NAS with #nextcloud running and one more family happily away from google's and Microsoft's (we also replaced One Drive) cancer.
We even found an other 4 TB SATA HDD* so it's running a Mirror set for the Data now.
it was pure luck we talked today as his wife would have taken it to the recicler this week as it can't run windows 11.
*By pure chance he had an external USB HDD that included the same model and size HDD as was in the PC. So I shucked it for him and we did put it in the machine. Good think that I had a bunch of spare sata cables and y sata power connectors in my pack. I did put a cooler on the OEM branded m.2 SSD.
That Samsung fu*ker ran hot.
His Son gave him the drive but clearly never checked temps.
