I have a Synology #NAS and I want to start dabbling a bit more in #selfHosting. I’m not a sysadmin and don’t want to be. I do want stuff hosted out of my closet to be safely accessible from the public internet. The ways people tend to deal with this seem to be either Tailscale or Cloudflare + a reverse proxy. I have no idea what I’m talking about. Should I look into one or the other of those things?

Has anyone managed to get #OwnTracks running with container manager on their #synology #nas ? I plan to (try to) use it with @tailscale , if possible. Reading the owntracks quicksetup guide. but it only mentions VPS. Would be sweet if anyone has seen a guide suitable for newbies like me. #selfHosting Seems to be at least some frustration on the matter: https://github.com/owntracks/talk/issues/253

In other news Chi's Open Media Vault 8 #nas is now fully populated with drives and running.
#nextcloud , #paperlessngx , #jellyfin and #technitium containers are configured, up and running.
#NetBird VM configured & connected #rsync to my NAS is running

Gods I wish I had a faster connectin.

250 MBit/s Down, 100 Mbit/s Up would have been amazing... 20 years ago.

Chi has 10 Gbit/s symetric and doesn't even pay twice what I pay.

I hate being the bottleneck.
