One of those chappies set up shop in the grapefruit tree next door a month back and klaxoned all day every day while the blossoms lasted 馃榾
That reminds me. For the first time that I can recall - after Newcastle Council cleared a famous city street (Laman Street) of a starling plague 60 years ago - I saw a lone starling. Thought they were gone forever. Also the only sparrow I've seen since childhood/teen was 10 years ago at the local Subway, pecking crumbs.

Apparently scientists researched what would happen to ecology if mozzies were exterminated and found nothing.
I'm sceptical.
