Nuova puntata del mio viaggio nel mondo del #selfhosting: dopo una "fase uno" di sperimentazione con vari servizi, si passa alla "fase due" di backup e migrazione dai servizi di Google. Qui un po' di problemi ci sono. Non tanto per foto e documenti (direi che #immich e #nextcloud rappresentano ottime soluzioni per replicare Foto e Drive) quanto per la mail. Ho una quantità spropositata di gb in email accumulati in più di 10 anni e non so come renderli disponibili in senza passare da gmail - - >

I saw a suggestion to just use the iOS/iPadOS version of Immich on my Mac (there’s no Mac native version at this time), where I already have my full iCloud photo library locally (vs my phone or iPad where I don’t have the full library locally).
Working well, but occasionally the upload seems to get hung and I have to back out and go back into it to get it to resume.
BUT, it’s moving albums over along with the photos, so that’s pretty sweet.
Took advantage of this gloomy (and, frankly, bleak) pre-winter-storm afternoon to try to get Immich installed.
Success! Immich is now running on my Mac mini (via Docker Compose).
Now... to figure out the migration process for my 53,000-ish photos.

Kind of exciting to jump into some Proxmox shenanigans... Trying to get all of my ducks in a row as I assemble the hardware.
Because the 11th Gen Intel Optiplex Ultra I'm upgrading to (from 7th gen Intel) is 11th Gen, apparently there are extra hoops for Proxmox iGPU usage (for Plex, tDarr, Immich, etc).
Missing iGPU-sharing features in 11th gen Intel means I apparently can't just assign the GPU to my Docker VM and do everything there. Because then the server becomes headless (which seems silly for a PC literally mounted to a monitor). So, I need to migrate from my current Dockerized iGPU-utilizing apps to baremetal versions in unprivileged LXCs. All while trying to keep the existing data intact.
(I'm trying to heed Proxmox's instructions to not do Docker in LXCs)
