Who purchased a new #MacBookNeo ?
I'm so frustrated by #Windows that I'm thinking of getting a #MacBook #Neo. I've written a lot about Windows and some about Linux, which you can see at https://www.ii.com/portal/windows/ and https://www.ii.com/portal/nix-nux/. I'm losing my mind learning about all the ways to #debloat Windows, minimize #telemetry, use only a #LocalAccount, get rid of ads, etc. that maybe it is time for me to give up on Windows. I'm thinking I'll get one at #Costco, but I'd love your thoughts on...
* whether Costco is a reasonable place to get a #MacBookNeo
* what #privacy and #security issues should I be aware of with a MacBook Neo. I will not connect to an #Apple account or use any #AppleServices
Thanks for any tips!

I walked into an Apple Store today, expecting droves of people clamouring to play with all the new products - most especially, the much-hyped (albeit with provisos as to who 'its meant for') Neo.
Hardly anyone checking it out.
It seems like a competent little machine, and maybe Apple has underplayed its usefulness too far. And maybe they should have held off releasing it - for 'the students' they say its for - until July or August? Mid-school year? Not so much.

Haters capping on the new #Macbook #Neo should keep in mind a critical point:
#Apple does a significantly better job with application efficiency and tuning than #Windows does
(read: memory management)
Under #iOS, ( #unix), apps not only have a smaller physical storage footprint, but they also consume less system-resources during runtime
You're welcome! ❤️

The more I think about it the more I think that Apple have in part positioned the MacBook Neo to dilute, sabotage, diminish or at least render pointless the iPad product line.
In most cases, it now makes a lot more sense to buy a MacBook Neo than almost any iPad other than the very top specced top line biggest ones.
About the only remaining reason to specifically choose an iPad now is for the Pencil, for something like Procreate or similar, but even then I’d choose a Wacom and a Neo personally – whereas there’d be a lot of people who do want to use Procreate on the iPad with the Pencil, so that’s the iPad market now
The reasons to have an iPad are now fewer, and the advantages of an iPad are competed with by the Neo.
I think Apple really want to get rid of the iPad for several reasons, but they can’t just axe it, this is how they bury it, by releasing the Neo at that price. Apple don’t sell a lot of iPads with such a turnover that they do iPhones, people will upgrade an iPhone on a far more frequent rate than they do their iPad. Anyone with an iPad will hang on to it for as long as it still goes. Also, iPads don't improve noticeably from one generation to the next, so why upgrade. #Apple #Neo
