I had 129.07 GB of CACHE for After Effects, an app I HAVE NOT OPENED since 2023 that I have had UNINSTALLED for months.
(This is on Mac).
Absurd.
A year or so ago when... I don't remember what exactly it was... TikTok shut down to the US for a bit? Users went a different Chinese platform. Many users were talking about doing the same once Jan 22 shows up.
I know that this morning within the hour, Aaron Parnas said he was unable to upload the video of the shooting. His Insta and Substack were fine. And I did see the video posted by abc News on TT and now there's tons of them...
TikTok is like any other platform. People post on there and they also have accounts on Instagram, and others. They have a marketplace that oddly enough is more trustworthy than Amazon at this point 🤷♀️
Current happening news though, you gotta be tapped into all of them IMO. I've never posted on TT just lurk and share with a couple other people. Just like I still have a Twitter account & lurk. Good news source of you know who to follow and what to look for

How are the diehard TikTok users going to handle the new overlord's manipulations? Will there be a revolt? An opening for another service to come in? I think the TikTok people are a different type of social media breed, so when the #Enshittification happens, I must admit I am curious how it will play out...

#ipadOs version 26.2 has been #enshittified with #ai eveywhere. It pops up in every nook and cranny of the screen. In my case of ipad air 2022 the screen is getting worse and worse because it doesn't react well to touch very often.
Gone are the days that #Apple was a quality product.
And because the edges of every window are huge now in some new "theme" there's no more room to see your text you are writing.

@rvstaveren I have a giant beef with #Apple’s Music.app in Tahoe. They fucked it up with massive #enshittification.
There is a certain amount of enshittification creeping into #apple and it goes trough luring people into getting an apple fitness+ subscription by displaying badges and an “uncancelable” dialog for which you either have to go through of force close the app. Really great, really great

honestly, the janky-ass superflous animations & effects even with all the “reduce motion” #accessibility options enabled seem to exist only to slow down my previously very snappy recent-gen (n-2) #iPhone – this isn’t event planned obsolescence, it feels like hastened obsolescence to make the #Apple money printer go brrr just a little sooner than usual, as a treat 😤
on a device that has the hardware to support 120Hz refresh rates, why am I ever seeing folders & icons get visibly drawn on my screen? 🤪

From the Fediverse to #privacy respecting cloud and email services to repairable hardware. If you don't like what we have and you use a computer don't just complain about the latest #enshittification from #Apple, #Google, #Microsoft, #Amazon. Solve the problem, contribute to the solution.
You can begin a switch. Take your time. Share what you learn and help others.

I am just floored how junky Windows (11?) is. I was raging against Apple’s new Liquid Glass garbage but the Windows actually takes the cake. No surprise here but I sure eases me off the raging against Apple. Enshittification however is alive and well. Nobody needs a cluttered unusable OS. I am new in the job but feel like 70% of my struggles to find my way around is idiotic shit that Microsoft tries to shove down my throat. Unreal. #Microsoft #Apple #Enshittification
