Hey the #Fediverse!
Today, I have released the version 0.1.0 of my new project, f2ap, an application that adds a compatibility layer for #ActivityPub to your website thanks to your #RSS/#Atom feed!

You can see a running example at @blog! 🤩

Currently, only the support for Mastodon is guaranteed, but there are a lot of other platforms out there. If you are on another social platform, please help me document the platforms support! 🙏

Kind of wild #cooklang has its own federation setup now. 😅

Sure it uses #rss. No fancy #ActivityPub. Still, fascinating to see something like this.

More of the web trying to index itself as primary search engines lose all their meaning to what search means. 🫠

TT-RSS Shuts Down, but the Project Lives On Under a New Fork

Logo of TT RSS featuring a stylized 't' in orange and white, with an orange RSS feed symbol, set against a blue background.
“In a surprising move, Andrew Dolgov (known online as “fox”), the original developer of the popular self-hosted open-source RSS reader and news aggregator Tiny Tiny RSS (TT-RSS), announced that on November 1, 2025, he will dismantle all infrastructure powering tt-rss.org, including its Git repositories, cgit instance, and user forum.”

TT-RSS was one of the options I was tossing up between, before I decided on FreshRSS. It has been going for a long time though, so kudos anyway to its dev for supporting it for 20 years already.

But it is important for any users to note there is a fork available, and they may want to just check out the details for any migrations required. In most cases, for self-hosted instances, that may just be the change of the image name to source the updates from.

Are there any good #rss readers for #iOS out there that can talk to rssreader backend? Reeder Classic still works but it’s buggy and aging :-(

Okay home lab and self-hosting people: I've had some great feedback on my request for an RSS feed reader, and I am down to two options: Miniflux and FreshRSS.

But here's where I am stuck, which requires a follow-up question: it's clear that Miniflux cares about privacy, because it's written all over their docs. I like their anti-tracker and all the other privacy features. However I don't see the same features in FreshRSS, so that is carrying a lot of weight on my decision at this point.

If you use FreshRSS, do you know how to implement such level of privacy, or at least most of those features?

Question to the hive mind: I would like a suggestions for a good self-hosted RSS feed reader, that I can use from a web browser and from an Android app at the same time.

I have looked at the selfh.st list of apps, but I'm honestly not sure which one to pick. All of them seem good enough, and I don't want to choose solely on the number of GitHub stars. Listening to opinions and experiences from the users also count.

So these are my basic "wants": self-hostable, nice web interface, nice Android app (preferably not 3rd-party, but I understand that could be a stretch). Bonus points if the feeds can be categorized in lists and/or tagged. And I really don't mind if it has AI features (like auto categorization or auto tagging), but it's certainly not a requirement. Extra-bonus points if it has some type of integration with Mastodon or YouTube.
